"Would You Like A Visit?"

Hi Blog Friends!

I've missed you!
So, I thought I'd pop in here & show you the card I am sending to our daughter this week.
It isn't a "Valentine." Would you believe, I haven't even started those yet? YIKES!
But, it is a card made with LOVE & it has HEARTS!
Here is a picture of the normal weekly cards I send---
I usually keep them pretty simple, but this week I thought I'd make it a normal A-2 size card.

I am entering this in the
Wednesday Challenge at SSS,
Have a Heart.
For more information, check here:
http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/
I used a sketch from SCS-SC523.
(Not this weeks challenge, but non-the-less, it's a "challenge!")
Just a little of what I was thinking when I made this card.....
Do you ever feel your kids make you feel OLD, SENILE OR YOU JUST EMBARRASS THEM? LOL
Sometimes, our kids do that & so, not taking it seriously, we tease them about how they are coming across.
It's kind of a running joke in our family.
I remember hearing ages ago, when your kids get mad at you & maybe are back-talking, not that our daughter did this recently, (just an example of how kids can act at different times in their lives,)  but you should never take it personally.
(I have to say, it saves you from hurt feelings when you can laugh it off.) But, sometimes, their emotions do get the most of them & they spout off.
Just some of those things they need to learn, self-control, respect, etc....
Anyway, using that thought of her thinking I'm old, senile or she might be embarrassed by me, I made this card & gave her my side of the story....
Hope you enjoy this silly card!
I used Inky Antics- Alice for my main image & colored her in with Copics & Sharpies.
Inky Antics is just a fun company with silly images that make you laugh, some of the first stamps I got when I started stamping.
Check here for more information about their stamps:

I created a "designer paper" using Floral Tapestry- Embossing Folder. I colored some areas & left others & also added detail with an Inkssentials Opaque White Pen.

The front sentiment, "Would you like a visit?" is my own.

The little hearts are from SU- Heart to Heart Punch, (I only used the smaller heart.)
I also popped the panel Alice is on & Alice herself up on Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape for dimension, along with the speech bubble.

Here is a close-up of Alice.
I added extra things to Alice by hand to make her look just a little more nutty!

Looking closer here, I added Sakura Glaze pens & Wink of Stella in different places.

I also added my own home-made Enamel dots.

O.K., here's my side for our daughter to see why I'm "nuts!" LOL
Yep, it's
ALL THE KIDS FAULT!
I KNOW, you know,
 that MAKES SENSE! LOL
I extended the vine from the embossing folder up the side of my sentiment.
The sentiment is from Eureka Stamps- 0609D Lost My Mind.
Do you think your kids would be embarrassed if you showed up looking like Alice?
Don't forget the matching envelope, made with WRMK Envelope Punch Board.
AND did you notice the extra stamp?
I found this on Amazon.
Those enamel dots don't go through the postal machines so well, so a special stamp was needed.
It says,"Artwork Enclosed. PLEASE Hand Cancel."--13D1136 by DRS Designs.
You can also find this stamp on their website:
(If you look closely, you can see the little extras I added to Alice to make her look a little more nutty! The image on the envelope is the original stamp image.)

Do your kids treat you as if you're "senile?"
What do you do when they behave that way?
I'd love to hear!

"A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones."
Proverbs 17: 22

Just a little "nutty!"

Additional Supplies not mentioned above:
Paper Studio Paper
Zig Millenium Pens
Scotch Quick dry Adhesive Glue
Glue Dots

  3. Oh, my kids would love a card like this! They're 28 and 30 and still think I've lost my mind. That's ok, I love them anyway! I just ignore it and keep on moving forward. I love all the extras you put on your card, and that Wink of Stella showed up great in your photo. Take it easy!

  8. You are an inspiration Becky! You make me want to be more creative. I love this card. And ... you are so right ... it is our kids fault! I tell my kids that when I gave birth to them, they took some of me when they left. Hopefully they only got the good stuff (cause I love my kids) and not my flaws! God bless - have a great weekend!
