"He Is Mine FOREVER!"

Hi Blog Friends!

I said I'd be back with more Valentines & here I am!
ODB has a challenge-
Pink, Red, & White only Color Challenge, with only neutrals, no other colors-(green or kraft for leaves & black or brown for sentiments is fine.) Cards are due by Feb. 2nd, at 8 p.m. EST.
 For more details check here:

I THOUGHT I'd feel more at home with the Pink, Red & White Challenge, but I have to say, I didn't! I just don't have "enough" ODB stamps to feel that comfortable YET! LOL But, I did look through what I have & found a scripture that I thought would work & then I needed an image. I'm low on ODB images too it seems. I don't have alot of dies either, so I had to do some THINKING!!! HOW would I do this? Will it even come together? I decided to get "ARTSY!"
Take a look:
I pulled out my Gelatos! Remember, Pink, Red, & White...! I stamped my image first-
Jesus, from ODB- Children of God, using SU- Ruby Red.
Then I scribbled my Gelatos- Guava Guava, Red Cherry, & Bubble Gum, & blending them with my finger. I then stamped my sentiment-
 " My health may fail, my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart;
He is mine forever." Psalm 73:26, from ODB- Scripture Series 1.
I placed a Spellbinders- Classic Hearts where I wanted it, centering the Scripture & traced around it with a Gelato. Then blending it just a little.
I wanted it to pop some, so I used my White Pitt Artist Pen & stippled around the heart & Jesus.
I used a SU- Corner Rounder & matted the image & placed it on my card base.
Wrapped Satin Ribbon & tied it around the top & added a Charm- Walmart. I also colored the heart on the cross charm just a little with a Copic marker and that's it!

I THINK this card would do for a friend who needed to know, that there was someone other than you, that loved them!
DO tell me what you think?

Supplies not mentioned above:
One little glue dot behind the bow, to hold it in place!

This card was awarded "The Shining Light Award" on the ODB Blog- on Feb. 4, 2014.

A Valentine for Timeless Tuesday!

Hi Blog Friends!

I've done a card for the
Timeless Tuesday Challenge!
The challenge?
For additional details on this challenge check here:
SERIOUSLY, I don't see too many PURPLE cards out there! Do you think it's one of those colors people shy away from? My mind has been on VALENTINES! There isn't much time left to get them made! So, I wondered if I'd get to play along, I was thinking reds & pinks...! BUT, WHO SAID a Valentine
HAD TO BE red or pink? I also saw a card this week that just BLEW ME AWAY!!!!!!!! I don't have all the supplies that were used, BUT I KNEW I HAD TO TRY IT!
 So, I cased it!
Here it is:
I am HAPPY with the way my card came out!
Here it is:
What do you think?

After die cutting a heart, Spellbinders- Classic Hearts on white card stock, I stamped the floral design using Flourishes- Roses Are Red. There is a piece of Designer Paper behind the open window-
Memory Box- Viola, from Flourishes. Notice, the icing look of the MS Glitter- Carrara Marble, I used Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive (glue) to draw a scalloped edge.
(This glue has a nice point to the bottle! My FAVORITE GLUE!)

The Flowers were colored with Copics & a few Sharpies, since I don't have to many Copic markers. I LOVE how the Violets came out & the little teal colored Sweet Peas!
Also notice the top of the photo--a light colored violet with print. I used my
Flourishes- Roses Are Red stamp, to stamp around the edges of this sheet in SU- Eggplant.

OF COURSE, I HAD TO use my Krylon Gold Pen to edge this sheet of lavender lovely!
I didn't want it perfect, just edged roughly.

Here is a close-up of my coloring & if you enlarge the photo, you can see the stippling I did! I just had to add it, to enhance the lovely flowers & script, "Happy Valentine's Day!"
I used the lightest Cool Gray Copic-C1, I had.
I didn't want it too dark.
You can see the Gold Embossing- SU Gold Embossing Powder. & the Gold Stitching.
IF you want an "elegant" card, ADD GOLD!

The inside:
Using some of the Designer Paper inside to dress it up.

I'm SOOO GLAD I didn't stick with my "traditional" red & pink for this Valentine! I guess I need to try more non-traditional colors every-so-often!

Additional Supplies used not mentioned above:
SU- Corner Rounder
Paper Studio Paper
Memento Ink
Crochet Thread
Glue Dots
Sewing Machine
One Valentine down & more to make! Be looking for more to come!
 I LOVE Valentine Cards!!!!!!!

"Bunny Special News & Challenge!"

Hi Blog Friends!

I know, three blog posts in one weekend? What has come over me?
SOOO MANY CHALLENGES, what's a girl to do, but do the challenges?
I seem to do better work when I have a challenge!

So, here's the Challenge:
Stacy has a Challenge going on over at her blog, to celebrate her "Bunny excitement!" Take a peek & see if you'd like to join in!
With her excitement, she has a PRIZE PACKAGE too! She has had TWO of her Bunny cards published in the Spring 2014- Card Maker Magazine!
So, if you'd like to see her cards, you could WIN a copy of the magazine, plus other goodies she's thrown in with that!
See her blog to see what else she has gathered together for the winner!
Just make a Spring time creation or a  Bunny creation, & link it up to her blog!
You have till Jan. 29th, at 5 p.m.
The winner will be announced on Jan. 30th!

Here's my entry:
I started my card by picking out the Bunny stamp I wanted to use, Penny Black-Spring Joy-2565J.
(Not that I have "a lot" of bunny stamps! I DO LOVE BUNNIES THOUGH!!!!)
I picked out an old Mojo Monday sketch, but soon realized it didn't quite work, so I made my adaptations.
I then looked through my stash of papers to find some springtime
 Designer Papers-DCWV- Spring Fling & Summer Days;
figuring out what papers would go where.

I used  the "out of the box" technique for my image with my Spellbinders Classic Circle Die. I colored my bunny with Dick Blick Colored Pencils & Gamasol to blend the colors, matting my image on my Spellbinders Scalloped Circles Die, then popping it up on dimensionals.
I just LOVE this bunny; he even has a belly-button!
I stamped the sentiment, "Spring is here"- Penny Black- 2590E & added some little flags off to the side.
I think this card came out SWEET!
Wouldn't it be SO NICE if SPRING WERE HERE???

HOPE you get a chance to join in on Celebrating with Stacy & her "bunny excitement!"
There's still plenty of time!
Bunny Excited!

The Shelter of The Most High!

Hi Blog Friends!

I have been BUSY at work in our cozy home on this cold blustery day! Brrrr! It's COLD OUTSIDE! I have been busy making a card for an ODB Challenge! It's due TOMORROW! Eeeeks! This has been a BUSY WEEK & having a headache for two days now, I wondered if I'd get this one done! But, I've succeeded, & I AM PLEASED with how it came out!
Check here for the details on this challenge:

Here is the picture that ODB has given us for INSPIRATION!
I LOVE the look of these two pictures! I chose the picture on the left to use for inspiration for my card! There is SO MUCH that inspired me about this picture!
Let me begin!
I LOVE  the white furniture, & so I washed the designer papers with Gesso to give that white washed look. I LOVE the china pieces & so I chose the designer paper I did, with the thought of the china in mind, the blues & pinks of the flowers on the china! I LOVE the gold edges of the china, & so edged the designer papers in gold, a little distressed & aged as the china seems to be.

I LOVE the lace, the doilies, the crystal & glass! So, I used a Wilton paper doily-look closely & you'll see it peaking out, a Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Circle, a lace bow & a stick pin I made with clear crystal beads!

I LOVE the birdcage in the photo, so I found a lovely image of a birdcage on my designer papers & used it as a background for my main image. It symbolizes the shelter of The Most High too, even to the little birds of the air, because He cares for them too!  I also LOVE the curved edges of the china pieces, the curved window on the curio, & the curve of the back of the chair, & so I used a SU- Corner Rounder Punch for the corners of my papers!

I chose the Scripture,
"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty." Psalm 91:1
Because it fits this picture! I think of the BEAUTY of dwelling in the shadow of the Most High & how there is REST in His shadow, in His presence!
This is a place I could rest in, a place I could sit & have tea & just DWELL, just like in the presence of The Almighty, then I will be in The Shelter of The Most High!
Supplies used not mentioned above:
ODB- Scripture Collection 2
Spellbinders- Classic Circles
DCWV- The Primrose Stack
MS- Lace
Glue Dot

Hope you like & find a place that brings you to The Shelter of The Most High!

Celebrating the NEW!!!

Hi Blog Friends!

It's time for another Timeless Tuesday Challenge at Flourishes!
Here's the Challenge:

To Celebrate something new, I'm celebrating FLOURISHES NEW STAMPS & DIES, PLUS...!!!!
With this challenge coming right after Christmas, I'm in luck!!! LOL
Guess what "Santa," (Ally-from Flourishes) sent me? A NEW Flourishes Stamp Set! This is the first time I've used this set! AND my SWEET HUBBY made it a "Flourishes Christmas" for me too, so it all helps!!!!

So, with this card I've combined Flourishes- Old Tea Rose Stamp Set & Flourishes Hour Glass Die, Flourishes Tiny Flowers & Tags Stamp Set along with another Flourishes Die- Classic Tags!

It was SUPER FUN because I used a NEW fold or design for my card too- I made a
 "Tent Topper Card!"
You can find the directions over at SCS!

Take a look & I'll tell you what else is NEW:
I used one of the sentiments from this set, on the outside behind the main image, on the blue paper--
"Where beauty blooms, hopes flourish."

Notice my NEW Classic Hourglass Template Die? I LOVE the paper piercing that it automatically does! I added  a little paper piercing on the bottom & top of the image too. Do you see it?

I did an "Out of the box" technique when I stamped & cut the image! I also did some masking when I Airbrushed the background with a copic marker. The other thing I did NEW?
I used Tim Holtz Distress Markers, water coloring the image! I've been working on collecting these markers using those 40% off coupons from Hobby Lobby & Michael's!
They aren't too bad of a deal when you use those coupons!
 Two more sets to go!

Here you can see another of the sentiments from this set! I thought it quite a lovely sentiment!

Supplies not mentioned above:
KCompany-Life's Journey- Designer paper
Becca's Bow Maker
Glue Dots
SU- Festive Paper-Piercing Pack-to get the curved paper piercing on the main image
Artist Water Color Brush like an Aquarelle
Memento Ink

"I Sought The Lord..." Part 2

Hi Blog Friends!
I have ANOTHER IDEA for you to easily pass along Scriptures to your loved ones or friends, for encouragement!
For my creation I used the same Scripture I used the other day,  on our kids ATC's; from the
 ODB- Scripture Series 1!
Our Daily Bread is having a Sketch Challenge going on right now & you can find
 ALL the details here:
Here's the sketch:

I took a different approach, in that I SQUISHED UP this sketch! LOL
Working with a smaller space makes you do that! My idea is a BOOKMARK!

Take a look:

I created the shape for this bookmark using SU- Apothecary Accents Framelits.
(Looks like SOMETHING I "need" to get, huh?)

*After measuring the inside width of the die--7/16" &  using the die cut, only inserting one end under the die & the other end on top of the die, I ran the die through the Big Shot.
* I stamped my Scripture onto the bookmark---using a Stamp-a-ma-jig, since the bookmark is a little narrow. I wanted to make sure I didn't go off the edge.
*I created an oval mask & masked the area where I wanted the oval, using my Zig 2 Way Glue Pen.
*Then I used my Copic Air Brush System to color the paper around this oval.
* I used a pencil to draw the swirly vines & leaves & then coloring them with Copics & a Sharpie Marker. Erasing the pencil marks when I was done.
* I measured a piece of Dark Brown Card Stock-- 1 5/8" x 6 1/4".
*Draw  around the top notch on the bookmark & cut it out.
*Punching a hole, using a 1/4" hand punch in the front piece of the bookmark for my ribbon.
*Gluing the top front piece onto the dark brown card stock.
*Then punching a hole-1/4" hand punch, through the dark brown card stock for the ribbon.
* Then I added three dots on the lower left side of the book mark with a Souffle' 3-D Opaque Pen;
let dry.
* I added a band across the top of dark brown paper--1"x 1 5/8" & a smaller piece of designer paper--1 5/8"x 3/4".
*Lastly, add your ribbon; however long you want. Each strip of my ribbons are about 12". I used three strands of narrow ribbon.

You'll NOTICE this bookmark matches a card I made the other day for another ODB Challenge! I made that card, with a friend in mind & wanted to send just a little something else with the card. She enjoys reading & I thought a bookmark was the PERFECT gift to accompany her card! I thought the two Scriptures went well together after-all, the path of life sometimes is frightful! BUT, it needn't be, IF WE SEEK THE LORD!

So, what do you think about my "card/gift combo?"

HOPE you find time to jump in on the Challenge at ODB!
You have until Jan.19th at 8p.m., EST

Trusting in HIM & walking FREE from fear!!!

Supplies not mentioned above:
DCWV Linen Closet Stack-Designer Paper

Hi Blog Friends!
Today is COLD & SNOWY here! You'd THINK  the weather inspired me, BUT the Timeless Tuesday Challenge is to create a WINTER CARD....waiting long enough, I got some more inspiration from  Julies' card  on her blog today!
To see Julies' card in the
Free For All Friday Blog Hop, check  here:
The Timeless Tuesday Challenge is: #254 BUTTON UP!

I also chose to use the
 SCS Sketch for this week:

Here's my card:
WHO doesn't LOVE "Snow Days?"
Kids ALWAYS look forward to "Snow Days!" AND so do adults, REALLY!!!
Adults don't want to get up out of their warm beds, shovel snow, clear off their vehicles or drive through snow! Brrrr!!!
I used Flourishes-Snow days for my main image & sentiment.

I thought, if our kids were home, they'd want to be OUT IN THE SNOW, enjoying those BIG FLUFFY FLAKES & I'd be telling them, "Button up!!!!"  .

Here you can see I used Flourishes- Handmade Snowflakes- on a blue panel, & heat embossed them with white embossing powder.
Here is, that all important BUTTON to meet one of the challenge requirements! I added a flat backed pearl-SU Pretties Kit, on top with a glue dot, that makes me think of a SNOWBALL!
I popped the blue panel, the main image & the banner all up on dimensionals.

Supplies used not mentioned above:
Spellbinders Classic Scallop Circles
Distress Markers
SU Markers
Cuttlebug- Snow Dots
Memento- Rich Cocoa

Don't forget to find some time this weekend to get in on the Challenge over at Flourishes!
Check here:

If our kids were home, I'd be making HOT COCOA to warm them up after their time of throwing SNOWBALLS at each other & US! LOL They ALWAYS want to get us!

"I Sought The Lord..."

Hi Blog Friends!
Just a quick post today. I thought I'd show you some of what I do each week for our kids, as they are away at College. A mama's job is NEVER DONE! I like to send them cards, which can be the normal A2 size or smaller; I also like to make them ATC's! I usually go to the ATC's when I'm tired or time is short.
 Today, it was BOTH!
I thought this ATC would be "THE SCRIPTURE FOR THE WEEK" for both of the kids!
Each semester for college kids, brings new challenges & lots of changes, which we as humans sometimes, don't handle well or don't know how to handle!  Life in general is full of challenges & changes.Which then, makes us fearful. We humans are fragile beings!
We ALL have our "fears" & this Scripture tells us HOW we can be free of fear!
From ALL our fears!!!!!!!!
The Scripture comes from: ODB- Scripture Series 1
I used Flourishes- So Distressed for the design on the ATC'S & the matching envelopes!
 What a FUN SET!
I always enclose a note to each of the kids, encouraging them & letting them know they are loved!
I try to keep my ATC's pretty simple---you'll find out why just below!

Every stamper needs to have at least one ATC Stamp, here's what mine looks like!

We ALL NEED encouragement at one time or another. Scripture ATC's are a FABULOUS gift to those who need encouragement. They can be tucked into their wallets or purses & have them at their finger-tips when ever they need a little reminder of who loves them! The reason I keep them simple!

Supplies not mentioned above:
Memento- Rich Cocoa
SU- Inks
ATC Stamp-Inkadinkado-98048-DD
Envelopes- made with WRMK Envelope Punch Board

Who can you make some Scripture ATC's for?

Walking FREE from fear!

Hi Blog Friends!
Our Daily Bread has a challenge going on right now! We are to do a "2014 Recipe Challenge!"
(Example: 2- pearls, 0- flowers, 1-stamp, 4- designer paper prints.)
Your card is due by Jan. 12th, 8 p.m. Est.
Check here for more information:
Here is my "recipe!"
1- FLOWER
                              4- DIE CUT FANCY SQUARES
AND here's what that "recipe" looks like:
I LOVE this Scripture! "Trust in the Lord with all your heart...." Do we REALLY know HOW to "trust" Him? And "with ALL our hearts?"
"and lean not on your own understanding;" I've learned that when all the things around me are CRASHING & BANGING & feeling AWFUL, God is at work... & our human  understanding of things is, "WE'RE DONE FOR!" It's during those times, that we find out just HOW MUCH we trust Him! AND all the while, HE IS AT WORK!

"in all your ways acknowledge Him...." No matter WHAT we do, or how things seem, acknowledge HIM! That HE is in control! That HE is the Lord of your life & situation!
"and He will make your paths straight!" This is a PROMISE if we follow the road map laid out to us in the verse! He'll keep us on the straight path to HIM!

Supplies used:
ODB- Scripture Collection 2
Spellbinders- Damask Motifs
Spellbinders- Classic Circles
Spellbinders- Floral Flourishes
The Paper Company- Seaside Fashion Colors
DCWV- Linen Closet Stack
SU- Mellow Moss

Hi Blog Friends!
It's time for:

Here's the CHALLENGE this week:
THIS is MUCH EASIER than getting on a treadmill!!! LOL
ALTHOUGH, one needs some nicely shaped, & nice sized dies, so I looked through what I have---BOY, you REALLY FIND OUT, what you "need" to get, when these challenges come up!
I WAS able to find one that I thought would work! I hadn't looked over what everyone else had done, except for the Design Team early on, so I went over to get the link & WOW!!!!! You NEED to see what everyone else has come up with too!!!! GORGEOUS WORK LADIES!!!!!!!!! I NEED to visit everyone's blogs & tell them just HOW GORGEOUS their work is!!! NO WONDER! The PRIZE is the WHOLE MONTH'S RELEASE!!!!

Take a look here:

Here's what I came up with:
I was INSPIRED by the Design Team over the last few days & the NEW RELEASE that is going on right now!!!!! LOTS OF FLOWERS for Jan Marie!!!! I am SWOONING over the flowers MYSELF! Flourishes flowers are what WON me over when I discovered Flourishes AND the GORGEOUS Copic Coloring of the Design Team!

I started by using K Company Designer Paper (Double Sided) & Spellbinders Parisian Motifs Die for the base of the card. I wanted to do something DIFFERENT! So,  what I did was use some Acrylic Gesso on the base of the card & created a place to stamp my Rose image from Flourishes- A Year In Flowers 2. I masked it & then used one of Flourishes newer stamp sets, So Distressed. I stamped off & then stamped the base of the card.

I stamped the Rose image several times, as you can see & fussy cut them & popped them up on dimensionals.
Some of the Roses & leaves have more layers than others!
I added Flourishes Classic Tags Template Dies with a Sentiment from Flourishes Tiny Flowers & Tags! (There are LOTS to choose from in this set!!! I LOVE this set!)

Here is the INSIDE:
This sentiment is from Flourishes- Friendship & Flowers! (This set has LOTS of WONDERFUL Friendship Sentiments worth having!!!) And you'll notice the double sided paper is PERFECT for this card! All sides are PRETTY!!!

HOPE you like!
Supplies not mentioned above:
Linen Thread
MS- Rose Garden Fine Glitter-Jasper
Memento- Rich Cocoa

HOPE to see you over at Flourishes!!
