Butterfly Stamping on Gelli Plate Print

Hi Blog Friends!

TODAY is the last day to do the 30 Day Coloring Challenge! :(
Found here:

WHAT was I thinking?
I thought I had another day to create for this challenge! LOL
I tell you, this challenge has INSPIRED ME! ;)

So, after I did the Gelli Plate Printing, I began to do some thinking of how other dies would look with the prints.......
I stamped some butterflies in SSS- Premium Black Dye Ink & I LOVE the results!
Butterflies are symmetrical, so that is what makes the process of using the Gelli Print so much fun!
You don't know what you're going to get in some ways & just how interesting the results are!
I would pick the area on the print where I wanted the butterfly & stamped, then die cut it.
I LOVE the results with the butterflies!
I did several like this & picked out the pastel colored ones to use on my card today.

I will also be entering this in the SSS National Crafting Month post here:

I used Stampendous- Butterfly Trio Stamp & Die set.

I wanted the butterflies to pop, so I used Recollections Paper Pad- Wild Flowers,
& Paper Studio Black Card Stock!

Here is a close-up on the top butterfly.....

Sorry I don't have more close-ups of my butterflies, my camera was acting wonky. :(
But, I also mounted  my butterflies on Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape......

I also overlapped the wings a bit here & there, alternating the sides......

I left the inside blank for a note to be written, but there are plenty of butterfly sentiments out there....

What do you think?
I HOPE you've enjoyed this!

On a Butterfly Kick here!

P.S. I actually did more "coloring" than what I have posted here! LOL

Hi Blog Friends!

Today, another card for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge here:

These challenges are so much fun!
I hope you decide to jump in if you haven't already, it's never too late,
& maybe next time do the whole 30 days if you are able.
The challenge really gets your crafting/ creativity mojo going!

The project I have for you today,
was done specifically because of a project Kathy did  quite awhile back.
I LOVED the image she used & had to have it!

I am also entering this in SSS National Crafting Month spot on their blog here:

This is from Stampendous- Butterfly Trio Stamps & Dies.
I colored this with Alcohol Markers, &

LOTS of Wink of Stella & some elastic cording for the antenna's, tied off on the tips.

I took Kathy's advice & made a single card from the image itself, as it is large enough!

And I used some Designer Paper by Paper Studio-Kirby Teesdale Studio,  to make the gift bag,
& to get some inspiration from too!
Matching the coloring of the butterfly to the butterfly's on the paper.
I also did a matching envelope for mailing.

Inside: A Whipper Snapper Designs Sentiment- Self Propelled Flowers-HW719.

This butterfly card fits perfectly into the little gift bag- SU- Mini Treat Bag.

And the little gift bag fits perfectly into an A2 size envelope,
made with the WRMK Envelope Board, for mailing!
A nice surprise for the recipient!

Wouldn't it be nice to be a "self propelled flower?"

A Single Rose

Hi Blog Friends!

Today, another piece for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge.
Found here:
I have to say, I have so enjoyed this challenge!
THANK YOU KATHY for all of the organizing & inspiration you have done!
I know doing something this big is time consuming & takes a lot of effort.
And when you have company, I know you would rather be with them.
So it is a sacrifice that many don't realize!

Time is nearly up for this 30 Day Coloring Challenge, & I just wanted Kathy to know that I appreciate everything she has done!

So, today, I have a card I made for our daughter for encouragement!

Colored with Faber Castell Colored Pencils.

A Spellbinders Die, & a Darice Embossing Folder- Scroll Frame.

A touch of Glossy Accents for dew drops.

Inside: The sentiment from Funny Bones by Riley & Co.- 280809 RWD-188.
I LOVE this sentiment!
Talk about giving women power!
It can only be because of a woman's relationship with Christ that gives her power over the devil!
Christ did that on the cross for us!

BE the kind of women & men that make the devil run!

 Hi Blog Friends!

Since it is SPRING, I thought it was time to reveal those 25 little pairs of feet I told you about,
 quit awhile back!
Do you remember the post?
You can check here:

My card will also be entered in the 30 Day Coloring Challenge found here:

We became "chicken farmers!"
We have ALWAYS loved birds!
But we decided to get Chickens & I must say, they are so much fun!
I've learned which one to stay away from too! LOL
But, certain ones are more friendly than others & they act like little children wanting your attention.
Here are a few pictures that I think you will enjoy:

Here they are when they first came to us.
We got Rhode Island Reds & Amerucana's/ Easter Eggers.

The Amerucana's eggs are the pastel eggs, ranging from a green to blue in color.
The Rhode Island Red eggs are brown:

And we ordered ONE rooster! HA!

The little blond babies are the Rhode Island Reds & the darker ones or ones with dark markings, are the Amerucana's.
They're having their "Grow Gell" here.
It's what they need when they first arrive, before the water even.
Notice the little one, third from the top?
We lost her several days after their arrival. She just never grew & was being picked on....
I worked & worked with her, trying everything I could think of.
I cried & cried when I found her one morning!
Her name was "Itty-Bitty!"

This little Amerucana stood out to us.
Her name is "Queenie!"
The Amerucana's are so friendly!
Queenie, now fully grown, looks TOTALLY DIFFERENT, but is still the Queen! ;)

Here's Queenie again!
She likes her picture taken. ;)

This is Queenie when her feathers were changing.
 This one is Marmalade!
When little, Marmalade liked to walk on my arm when I'd go out to the coop.
All of the females were different in color & markings, with the Amerucana's.
It took some time to figure out that she wasn't a she, but a he! LOL
He is just the nicest Rooster & QUITE BEAUTIFUL now!

These are some of our girls, hard at work now. ;)
(The coop isn't quite a pristine as when we first got them, for the fact that chickens eat constantly....)

So, enough of that for now.
It is fitting that I have done another chicken inspired card for you! ;)

I call this "In The Coop" because this is how chickens are...

They climb up on their roost & preen each other & chatter.....

My husband cleans out the coop every day & there is always one hen,
that has to be in his face chattering away to him......
That is CB.
( "CB" stands for Crooked Beak.) ;)
"Daddy" makes sure she gets some of the treats given, as it is harder for her to eat with the crooked beak. She KNOWS she is special! ;)

And when my husband collects eggs, there is another hen that follows him about & is quite pushy.
She is the nagger, constantly squawking at my husband.
We call her Maxine.
They each have their own little personalities.

I should tell you that this image is a Penny Black Image- Spinning a Yarn-3474K,
& I used Faber Castell Colored Pencils to color the chicks, & adding a touch of Clear Wink of Stella to the yarn they are knitting.

Hope you have enjoyed hearing about our Chickens today.
They are busy little bees!

Work it! In Style OF COURSE! ;)

Hi Blog Friends!

Today, another post for the 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
Found here:
And today, just a simple coloring of an image & a simple card!
I've named it:
"Work it! In Style of Course!"

The fashionable chickens I'm showing you today, are braver than I am!
I would NEVER exercise in public or with a group of women.
I learned not to do that when I was younger!
You ALWAYS push yourself, trying to keep up with others, & then you end up hurting yourself!
I've never been athletic & never had to deal with weight issues either.

But, these chickens are BRAVE!
Exercising so fervently, without breaking a sweat!
Take a look:

I used a Penny Black Image- Chicky Work-Out #3471L
I colored these fashionista's with Dick Blick colored pencils & used Gamsol for blending.

I also used The Paper Studio- Be Bold, Be Bright.... Paper Stack.

Along with SU- Corner Rounder Punch &
Impression Obsessions- Instant Photo Frame-#DIE175 for the photo corner die.

Aren't these "chicks" cute?
They're even wearing leggings!
I can't imagine trying to put leggings on a chicken! LOL
There are such things as "aprons" for chickens......

I have knowledge that chickens DO run around constantly, getting their daily exercise!
They're ALWAYS looking for the next bite too!
Take a look at these little chicks!

 Look at that!
Their heads are all down looking for that next bite, except for one in the middle, darting by!
That I believe is one of our roosters! LOL
They're ALWAYS on the move!

Hope you like my card & are inspired to just enjoy coloring something today & join us for
Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
We're almost done!

Did you know?
Farm eggs taste different from store bought eggs?

Supplies not mentioned above:
* Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape- The chick panel is raised.

Enjoy the Moment--Water Color Play

Hi Blog Friends!

Keeping up with the 30 Day Coloring Challenge here:

O.k., I have to admit to staling yesterday on this project.
I had this idea in my head.....
Fiddling around & not trying to execute my idea most of the day.
I DID end up playing with my water colors though, & that is what this challenge is about!
Coloring with whatever medium you like.....
Trying to enjoy it & just create!

Well, I did do all that, although I am not sure I like what I ended up with!
I can say that, I don't believe this is one of my best works though. BLAH!
Does that ever happen to you when creating? LOL
I have to remember, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!" Right?

I thought I had it all done & then this morning, I added to it....
It did help, but I am still not sure of it!
Give me your opinion?

Here goes,

I LOVE all the layers of color that the water colors give!
I used Kuretake Water Colors.

Here you can see a little of the twinkling shimmer of one of the colors in the Kuretake palette.
I wanted the fluttering trail of the butterfly to twinkle.

I used Tim Holtz-Sizzix 660189 for the Butterfly image.
I embossed it on Vellum in white first.
I didn't like the stark white all by itself, it seemed to be too much white,
& this morning I  added the colorful doodling with Sharpie Markers.
I also had water colored the vellum--the deep pink, orange & yellow.

The sentiment is from North Coast Creations- Floral Sentiments 4.
I thought it fit the card & the process I was going through.
Just "Enjoy the Moment!"

Here is another photo of this project, it is before I added the doodling & will give you a different view.

You can see the underneath butterfly on which I layered the vellum butterfly.
See what I mean about needing something else?

So, now you see the dilemma of the day for me! LOL
If that's all I have to worry about, that is GOOD! ;)

Let me know what you think?
