Venise Lace & Silver Combo

Hi Blog Friends!

I've been waiting to receive a die from Becca Feeken that I won,
& it arrived on Friday.
My hubby brought the mail in
& I immediately pounced on the yellow envelope,
& ran off to where I create & began to work!
(My hubby totally understood my excitement!)

I've made a combo for you, just like Becca Feeken likes to make! ;)

Jumping right in, here's what I made:
I used SB- Venise Lace Hemstitch Rectangles Die (the die I won),
to create the first layer on my card base--
which is from Neenah- Metallic Card Stock, at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

Again, using the same die to create another layer, only this time in the Neenah- Metallic.

Next, I used SB- Stamp & Die Template Set- Vintage Elegance-SDS-055,
that goes across the center of the card & has lacy elements on the top & bottom;
cutting the metallic band also from the same set.

Next, I added SB- Isadora Trinkets to the top & bottom of the
Stamp & Die Template Vintage Elegance Set,
tucking in the edges just a bit,
& leaving the ends free for that airy feel lace has.

I made the flowers using SB- Venice Lace- Cinch & Go Flowers 2.

Making a large flower for the center & two smaller flowers for the sides, nestling them together.

I tucked in some leaves here & there from the same set,
& added Wilton Stamens & a few pearls here & there also.

For the inside:
I used the same Hemstitch Die.
No sentiment or verse added yet.
I haven't even attached it to the card yet---
saving it for when I make up my mind as to what to put in the card.
You could even just write a note if you choose.

Now for the gift box.
I was inspired by my new eye glass case & have been working on it for a little while.
Have you noticed?
Eye glass cases are so funky looking these days!
Geometric shapes just seem to be "in" these days for just about everything!

Take a look:
Here is my little gift box along side my new eye glass case.

From the side, you can see the shape a little better.

AND I even made it so it will fold completely flat, like my eye glass case!

A little closer look at that.

I used the same SB- Venise Lace Hemstitch Rectangles Die,
& the Venise Lace- Isadora Trinkets Die, for the decorative elements, along with a few pearls.

The closure is small magnetic strips, cut from a refrigerator magnet.

This little box will hold small gifts-- a necklace, earrings, a small pin, or 4 Kisses nicely!

And now the combo:
Get Well, Friendship, B.D., Just Because, Valentines, Wedding, Mother's Day, etc.!
Any occasion, this set will fit the bill!

I LOVE Becca Feeken's Dies, & who doesn't?
Becca is one of those I have followed from the beginning,
& will probably follow till the end of my journey with paper crafting!

One More-PSC #41!

Hi Blog Friends!

Took a break from all the card making & coloring,
& I felt lost without it after 30 + days! LOL
So, I wanted to use a special die that Poppy Stamps has recently come out with.
It will be another card for their February Challenge,
& I so wanted to do something Spring like.....
 Found here:

Here is my card:
I LOVE the pastels.
I used Poppy Stamps- Hampstead Bloom- (A freebie they gave me with my recent order!)
I die cut 3 of them from Strathmore 140 lb. Water Color Paper,
& water colored them with my Nuvo Aquarelle Brush & Kuretake Water Colors.

I used Poppy Stamps- Love Stitch Circle Frame & die cut 4 of them.
I used the Hampstead Blooms to drape outside of the frame,
after I glued 3 of the Love Stitch Circle Frames together.
Then I added my acetate to make my window,
& adhering the last Love Stitch Circle Frame onto the back of it,
to cover the raw edges of the acetate.
I used SB- Classic Circle Dies for the window.

I chose to use a pink card base from SU card stock.

I chose my designer paper from Recollections- Wildflower Paper Stack-
for inside the window & outside of the window.

I added Neenah Vellum-white stripes, to the top & bottom & tore the edges.

I used Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape for the shaker window,
layering it up twice for depth- cut very thin, so the shaker elements will be free to move around.

I used an EK Success Powder Tool to the inside edges of the mounting tape,
so my shaker elements wouldn't stick to the sides.

I added 28 Lilac Lane Sequins & some Seed Beads!
(For once I remembered to add the seed beads! LOL)

You might ask, "Where's the 'My Heart' part on this card?"
I used the 28 Lilac Lane Sequins for the heart---"Fairy Sparkle" has little hearts in it!
(Look closely & you'll see some in my photos!) ;)

Lastly, I added Nuvo Crystal Drops- Dandelion Yellow to the center of the Hampstead Blooms,
a few sequins on the outside of the shaker area,
& a touch of Wink of Stella to the word "Love!"

This Love Stitch Circle Die is excellent for shaker cards!

Hope you like & are enjoying some warmer weather where you are!
I'm SO READY for Spring!
(Oh, I'm done with the rain too! LOL )

P.S. "Love" cards can be sent ANYTIME of the year! ;)

Supplies not mentioned above:
*Multi- Med. Matte
*Acetate- from packaging
* Scotch ATG

Dreamy Vintage Valentine

Hi Blog Friends!

I have a card for you today for the
Poppy Stamps February Challenge
PSC #41- My Heart

 Found here:

I have to tell you, I am so tickled with how my card came out.
I know Valentine's is over for this year,
but hey, it never hurts to begin your Valentine's for next year!
Especially, when you find a design you love! ;)
I think this could even be a wedding card too--- this card would be stunning in white!

I sketched out my design,
& even thought I had the colors down I was going to use,
but I went in a different direction & am so happy I did!
I started by die cutting the Poppy Stamps- Heart Taglet,
from Strathmore 140 lb Water Color Paper & set the tag part aside.
I dabbed color & water on the little heart with my Kuretake Water Colors & let it dry.
I then, die cut Poppy Stamps-Hummingbirds
 from Strathmore Bristol Board,
& colored them just a bit with a Copic Marker & set them aside.
I also die cut Poppy Stamps- Rose Frame
from Strathmore 140 lb. Water Color Paper,
taped it down to my desk with Blue Painters Tape,
& began to add water to the flowers & leaves, & then added Kuretake Water Colors
As it dried I looked for designer paper that would look nice behind it.

I found some My Mind's Eye- Lost & Found that would look nice & attached the Rose Frame to it,
& matted it onto red card stock.

I then made my card base- which is 4 3/4" x 4 3/4"- SU- Soft Sky.

I laid my pieces down & felt it needed a "doily" of some sort,
 & decided to use
SB-Graceful Boarders- Graceful Frame Maker to give that lacy look around the edges.

I  attached the heart in the center with Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape.

This heart looks a bit tattered, but hey aren't all of our hearts tattered at one time or another?
With love, all hearts heal, & that is what the two "doves" are bringing to this tattered heart, love.
I used Poppy Stamps-Little Heart Banner & cut it from a  sheet of toner paper that had been foiled using the Mini Minc with Minc Foil.

The little roses in the center are from Sizzix-Tim Holtz Alterations-660227,
made with a Tim Holtz Quilling Tool & Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive.

Something that happened when I made the roses?
The quilling came undone just a bit on one of the center of the roses.
Here's what I did:

I tried to fill the hole with Nuvo Crystal Drops, but I didn't like how it looked.
So, I snipped a bit of the negative space & quilled it & pushed  it into the center,
& you can't even see it!
(It's the bottom center rose that I did this to.)

I added Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape behind the red mat panel, the Little Heart Banner, the "Doves"-Hummingbirds,
&  the Heart Taglet Die for dimension.
The quilled roses were attached with glue dots.

I don't know about you, but this Valentine makes my heart swoon!
I ADORE Vintage Valentine's!
HOPE you like it too!

If you want to play along, you have some time,
just jump in!

Who is the one bringing love into your life to heal your tattered heart?
(We all have "tattered hearts" at one time or another.)

P.S. I didn't even think of adding sparkle of any kind, this Rose frame is so beautiful!

Supplies not mentioned above:
*Copic Marker- also used to add a red edge to my main heart
*Silver Black Velvet Water Color Brush
*FC- Click-N-Go Pot
*X-Acto Knife
*Fiskars- Self Healing Mat
*Paper- Paper Studio & SU
*Teflon Bone Folder
*Foam- for forming flowers
*McGill- Ball Tools
*Multi-Med. Matte

Thank You Kathy!!!

Hi Blog Friends!

Don't think I have forgotten to say,
to Kathy Rocoosin
for her
30 Day Coloring Challenge!

I worked on a card yesterday for this!
I didn't want to post a thank you card that was for more than one company/person,
& I also wanted to have some coloring on it, just for Kathy!

First of all,
I want to say how much fun I had during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge!
It means so much to work day after day on the challenge.
It really helps you hone your skills & keeps you motivated!
All of Kathy's tips help too! ;)
I would say, if you haven't joined in on Kathy's challenge,
PLEASE DO SO, when Kathy has the next one?
It is so much fun & just makes you better at what you do!

For my card today, I even found ANOTHER Peony Stamp!!! ;)
For my Thank You card, I chose to use the new Poppy Stamps Rose Frame.
This is such a BEAUTIFUL DIE!
I cut it out of K & Company- Life's Journey Paper Stack.
(It was actually a print of plaster work)

I put Neenah- Vellum behind the Rose Frame & pink card stock behind that,
& matted it up on grey card stock & finally onto a black card base.

I also tore the vellum on opposite corners for added interest,
& heat embossed the sentiment "thank you"
from the Poppy Stamps Set- Peony Stems & Blossoms Stamp Set
in Zing-White Embossing Powder.

Here is a close up of the center & the flower,
which is from Poppy Stamps- Peony Stems & Blossoms Stamp Set
& cut out with the coordinating die set.
I stamped the flower on Strathmore 140 lb. Water Color with Versa Mark,
& embossed in white embossing powder & then water colored with Kuretake Water Colors.

I popped the grey panel & my die cut flower up on Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape for dimension.

The inside:
I used another image from the same set & added a piece of the vellum I tore off in the upper right hand corner.

Lastly, I added a few sequins from SSS that I had won as blog candy- (sorry, no name was given),
& I also added Nuvo Jewel Drops.

 for having the
30 Day Coloring Challenge!

***UPDATE: This card was chosen "Favorites for the week ending Feb. 17, 2018" on SCS***
