Hoppin' Down The Bunny Trail!

Hi Blog Friends!

As promised,
I have a Vintage Easter Card for you today!
I so enjoyed making this card using Becca Feeken's lovely dies!
Be still my heart!

So, here's what I did:
I chose the image that I wanted to use & made sure it would fit on the die that would offer the  landscape I needed for the image,
the inner-most portion of the SB- Chantilly Lace- Annabelle's Trousseau Die Set.
I used a stamp image from Tweety Jill- Easter Parade.
I stamped the image in Memento Ink on Strathmore Bristol Board,
& colored the image with a mix of Alcohol Markers- Copics & Spectrum Noir.
I grounded the bunnies by creating  landscape for the bunnies, their "Bunny Trail" & the sky.
I layered  the colored die onto a blue oval with foam tape;
the blue oval- from SB- Chantilly Lace- Hemstitch Ovals,
& framed it with the lattice looking piece of from the SB- Annabelle's Trousseau Set.
I layered this die up four times & then used my Gold Krylon Pen on the top frame & it's edges,
placing it on the blue Oval Hemstitch Die.
This piece was then placed onto the main die in the Annabelle's Trousseau Die Set with foam tape, which gives this card so much dimension.

 I created a card base of 4 1/2" x 6 1/2",
& covered the front with designer paper by Recollections- Wildflower Designer Paper.

I created my flowers using SB- Cinch & Go Flowers & Cinch & Go Flowers 2!
The tutorial is found here:
As you can see, my ribbon threads nicely through the die & the ends are brought together under the front pieces, leaving a nice clean strip of ribbon on the inside.

The inside:
I used the large die from the Chantilly Lace- Annabelle's Trousseau- white on white, & a smaller die in the set under the "Happy Easter."
The sentiment & the little colored eggs are from the Tweety Jill- Easter Parade Stamp Set.

Lastly, I added sequins by 28 Lilac Lane & a little Glossy Accents
on the little eggs in the bunnies basket & on the bow in the image.

I hope you like!
Have a blessed Easter,
 remembering the resurrection of
the Savior of all mankind,
Jesus Christ
The Son of God!
He gives new life to those who take the gift he offers freely!
A fresh & new beginning, just like the season of Spring!

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one & only son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life."
John 3:16 (TLV)

"Therefore if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away;
behold, all things have become new."
2 Corinthians 5: 17 (TLV)

Enjoy your Easter with your family, remembering the love & new life Christ offers us freely,
(Your comments are welcome & appreciated!)

For A Sweet Friend!

Hi Blog Friends!

I know it's been a week or so.
 I've been busy creating here......
I hope you have been busy creating where you are too.
It just makes me happy,
& I figure it also makes you happy to be creating! ;)

One of the things I've been working on is a Birthday Card for a dear friend,
& wanted to show you....

I will be entering this in the celebration
Simon Says Stamp
is having for
Happy National Craft Month
Found here:

I used a few of Becca Feeken's Dies---
The die I used?
Chantilly Lace-Annabelle's Trousseau Layering Frame-Med.
Be still my heart! ;)

For this card, I chose to go a simpler route,
& used the main die of the set, because I wanted the wide open space that it offered......
I die cut it out of Strathmore 140 lb. Water Color Paper,
stamped the image- Stampendous- Cling Sketchy Booms (CRR251) with Versa Mark,
  & sprinkled Zing-White Embossing Powder,
 & heat set it.
I water colored it with Kuretake Water Colors....

Want a peak?

Here is my card:
I just LOVE the white on the blue!
It makes the lace of the die POP!
I used Polychromos Pencils & Derwent Metallic Pencils
for those sweet spots after the water coloring was dry.

I splattered it with Kuretake Gold Water Colors,
after masking off the lacy edges of the die with Post-It Tape.

The ribbon laces up a bit different with not using the other pieces to the die set, but it's just as fine.

Here is a close up.
I didn't think the gold splattering showed up as much as it does in the photo's,
 & decided to add
28 Lilac Lane Sequins & a few Nuvo Crystal Drops-clear.

This truly is a simple card, with few layers of dies.

I took Becca's advice & sat one day to just make some flowers.....
AND if you'll notice, I made a few buds too!
The tag is SB-Vintage Elegance Graceful Tiny Tags (SDS-053).
(Oh, how I wish SB would come out with more little sentiments to go with this set!
Maybe, for Christmas, Valentines, Easter, etc.!  Wouldn't that be nice? I adore little tags like this!
I'd use them all the time with the right little sentiments! HINT! HINT!) ;)

The flowers were made as I explained on this post:
(Except for the buds)

For the inside:
I used PTI-Pen & Ink.

I hope you like!
Your comments are so appreciated!

Happy Birthday Sweet Friend!

Simon Says: Easter/Spring Inspiration!

Hi Blog Friends!

I have a card for you today that I had fun making,
grouping elements that I've had & hadn't used yet, & using those that I've just gotten;
some of which I've had on my "Shopping List" for some time actually.
Sometimes, it just takes me awhile to take the plunge! LOL
Do you do that?

So, I am entering my card in the
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.
Simon Says: Easter/Spring Inspiration
Found here:

I'll also be entering this card in
SSS Happy National Craft Month Challenge.
SSS is wanting to know what we're working on....
Found here:

Yep, working on Easter Cards this month!
Just playing one evening with some new goodies & some old goodies....
This is what I came up with.
I had the colors I used in mind the whole while.
Inspired by a card Melissa Phillips had done awhile back.
(Sorry, I don't have a picture of it & I couldn't find it  to show you either! LOL)
Never the less, I hope you like!

I used SSS- Gingham Background-SSS101596 to create my background,
& used SU- Edgelits- Adorning Accents Die.
 I used PTI- Stitched Primitive Hearts Die, cut from Stathmore 140 lb. Water Color Paper;
Water Colored with JoiArt Water Colors, & Kuretake Water Colors & Starry Colors.
Letting it dry & then threading through the stitching holes Crochet Thread
with a Dental Floss Threader.

The florals I used are from PTI- Brushed Blooms Stamps & Dies.
I've loved this floral since it came out.

Here you can see some dimension--- Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape.

The little chapel is by SSS- Churches-SSS111567,
& "Happy Easter" banner is by PTI- Cloche Quarters Stamps, Dies & Sentiments.

I used Glad Press-N-Seal to do my arrangement.

I also did some paper piercing on my white matting-using a foam mat by Ecstasy Crafts,
& an Ectasy Crafts Paper Piercer & the SU- Paper Piercing Pack Essentials.

The little swirl at the bottom is by PTI- Mini Blooms.
And a little touch of sparkle- Nuvo Crystal Drops & 28 Lilac Lane Sequins.

For the inside:
More paper piercing & a scrap piece of the gingham background,
along with PTI- Easter Alleluias.

Hope you like!
Love that shimmery heart behind the little church!

Planning on making time to make some more Easter Cards!
