He Cares For You!

Hi Blog Friends!

TOMORROW, is the last day to enter in this contest!

Admittedly, this card has very little coloring on it,
BUT the little bit I did color makes a HUGE difference!
Let me show you what I've made!
(Lots of pictures today! )

I used Becca Feeken's- Grand Cabinet 3D Vignette.
I got this after waiting for it to come in, since everyone else is loving them too! ;)
I was SO HAPPY when it came in, & have been saving it for some special occasions that are coming up, but I HAD TO pull it out & play with it! ;)

I die cut 5 white pieces (for the tunnel), & one solid piece (for the back),
 along with two side pieces,
and a center piece that came from the center of one of the white pieces- in Bristol Smooth,
 creating the tunnel.

That center piece is the piece I stamped on,
using PTI- Corner Adorner-July.
The stamp is a lacy corner- stamped in two opposing corners.
I'm not sure if you can see it or not, as I stamped off first for a light stamping on the final piece.

Then, I stamped a floral image using PTI- Orchid Expressions.

I made sure all the ink was dry & gave it a good powdering with my Embossing Buddy.

I then placed this piece in my Misti & laid out my sentiment--PTI- Garden of Faith,
stamping it with Versa Mark & sprinkling it with Wow Perissa WL16R Embossing Powder.

Here is where this sentiment/verse comes from in the PTI- Garden of Faith:

Matthew 6:28-30
"And why are you worried about clothing? Observe how the lilies of the field grow; they do not toil nor do they spin, yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.  But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today & tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith! "

Once I had this piece done, I laid it in the center of the filigree piece to center it,
on top of the back piece & attached it.

Next, I formed my tunnel card.
It was easy & fun to create!

Next, came embellishing my tunnel card!
Embellishing is ALWAYS FUN!
And this is where I did my coloring.

I used I.O.- Leafy Branch Die to create the vines going up the side & peaking out inside the tunnel.
I ran my ink pad over them for a truer green to what I'd stamped the Orchids.
I used SU inks.

I also used I.O.- Tiny Flowers Die.
I used a Q-Tip to add color to the center of these little flowers dipping it in my ink pad;
I used a molding mat & a McGill Stylus to form them.
After gluing them onto the card using Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive, I used
Faber Castell- Pitt Artist Pens- Lilac 239** & Ice Blue 148** to just touch the centers of these tiny flowers, giving them rich depth.

*****P.S. I also wanted to let you know that I give
Faber Castell a 5 Star Rating
on helping me get my Pitt Artist Pens in cases!
(As I mentioned in an earlier post,
the pens sold in the cases are only available in Germany,
so you won't be able to find all of the sets on Amazon or elsewhere,
unless you go through Faber Castell themselves.)
I don't do Facebook to give them my rating on their page,
 so I wanted  to do it here;
& let you  know I found Faber Castell friendly,
& so helpful, & quick to get my order to me, & a delight to work with.
If you're looking for Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens, or other Faber Castell Products,
be sure to check out their website! *****

Here you can see the dimension/ layers of this card.

I also attached a satin ribbon with a Glue Dot & placed a 1/4" hole punch on the back where the glue dot was exposed, so as not to stick to anything when the card was closed.
(I could have woven the ribbon in, but chose not to.)

Here the card is shown folded flat, even with all of these tiny flowers & vines!

And here it folds the other way!

Just a touch of coloring today, but WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

What do you think?
Have you gotten any of Becca's GORGEOUS 3-D Vignette Dies????
Be sure, you will be seeing more!

This card will go to a dear friend who I think will benefit from seeing this reminder of God's promises to His children---
Yes, that God cares for us, more than the lilies of the field!
No matter our worries, our struggles, He is with us providing what we need.
What  beautiful words, lovely words, a reminder of His loving care!
Lord, help us to learn we can trust you in all circumstances?

Hope you like & leave  a comment about your thoughts on my card!
Your kind words are always welcome & appreciated!

Hope your day is FILLED with CONFIDENCE that God can be trusted!!

Live to INSPIRE!

Hi Blog Friends!
I've been so busy here, but wanted to post this for the following challenges!

Paper Trey Ink:

I did photos of my Water Coloring, so you can see what it is I am talking about,
so get your paddles water color brushes out for a watery journey! ;)

I stamped my image- PTI- Especially You, in Ink on 3- Fade Out Ink, for no line coloring;
on Canson 140 lb. Water Coloring Paper.
Notice how light my paint is?
I did the wet on wet technique, adding water to the desired area, & dropping in my paint, letting the water do the work.

Working from one petal to another, that aren't near one another.
(You might notice, I've already starting layering on more color before the first layer is completely done. It's like Kathy has taught with colored pencils, work in the nooks & crannies for depth.)

Notice too, that I have left some of each petal as much as I could with a white area, for highlights.
Some have a light layer of color, but I tried to leave the tips of the petals as white as I could.
Sometimes, light hits petals & they are white, but sometimes you just see  a touch of color, so it looks natural if you do color some with the lightest shades of your chosen color.

Leaving bits of white showing, is one of those rules to learn in water coloring, for the best results!

Here more of the petals are colored.
(That little glittery area, is wet paint.)
I got a little ahead of myself in taking photos, trying to move right along. ;)
If I don't take the photos when I think of it, I will forget, so involved in my painting! LOL
I am starting to layer in more color here; can you see the darker shades?

Here this one is still a bit wet in the same place, but you can see the darker shades/layers of color.
Just keep layering in your color in the nooks & crannies blending it lightly out...

Here I gave the petals a little more definition  on the edges with some color,
& more layers of color for depth.

Here I started on the leaves in a light yellow green, giving them shadow, or heavier color where I thought the shadows would be & did the center of the flower in yellow.

I used a darker shade of green next & did the center of the flower in a darker yellow.

Here is the near finished flower, with a darker green yet on the leaves.

Now, here is the finished card:
I used JoiArt Water Colors & Silver Black Velvet Water Color Brushes,
along with a Faber Castell- Click-n-Go Pot & a Lowe Cornell Palatte.
I added yet another darker color to the center of the flower for depth.

If you will notice in the photo above, I have  a pippet, that I use to add water to my paint, taking it from my Faber Castell- Click-n-Go Pot to the palette.

Be sure to change your water frequently, so as not to muddy your paint colors!

I also used PTI- Noted: Scalloped A2 Vertical Die, along with PTI- To the Point Edgers Die.

I also used PTI- Words to Live by: Inspire, both the stamp set & the die.
Cut from Recollections- Black Paper for a shadow to the die,
done in Spellbinders- Platinum Pack.

The gold polka dot paper is by Paper Studio- Be Bold Be Bright Stack.

I also did the background in blue as Betsy suggested, & even added a touch of yellow here & there, which is harder to see in the photos, but if you look hard enough, you will see it!;)

Here is the inside, from the same PTI set- Especially You.

Lastly, I added 28 Lilac Lane Sequins with Multi-Med. Matt, & a Marvy Jewel Picker.

This one will go to our Grad Student!
She asked me when she saw me painting this Sunday afternoon,
if I were going to send it to her.
I told her, I thought she was getting away from Pink?
You know, how kids think?
Doing little things to "grow up?"
Getting away from so much pink is one of those "growing up" things for her.
But, she said she was fine with this little bit of pink!
It will look NICE in her newly decorated dorm room too! ;)

Hope you like & I hope I taught you a little something new about Water Coloring!

I thought I would do another Princess.... ;)
I just love these images!
 This time I used
Prima's- Princess Stella
I used Strathmore's Bristol Smooth Paper.

I used Faber Castell's Aquarelle Pencils, along with a few Derwent Metallic Pencils,
  & a Nuvo Aquarelle Brush.

Remembering to keep my pencils sharp with a Faber Castell Pencil Sharpener.

I also turned to my Faber Castell- Pitt Artist Pens for some richer color & depth.

Lastly, I used a Uni-ball Signo White Pen to add highlights, & dots to Princess Stella's dress & a few dots around her.

What do you think?
Any Princesses in your life?

You Are Amazing!

Hi Blog Friends!

Here today for
Found here:
And you can enter here:

Today, I have a very simple card, & it is all about the coloring with this one!

I used SSS- Sketch Lotus Flower & Die, from their Friendly Frolic Release.
I stamped the image on Strathmore Toned Gray Sketch Paper-
having the right paper to color on helps;
& colored my image in with Faber Castell's Polychromos Pencils.
They blend like butter!

For the base of my card, I used PTI- Shape Shifters Die-Oval 2.

I die cut my image & popped it up on Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape.

I added white lines with a Uniball Signo White Pen & Nuvo Crystal Drops-Clear for Dew Drops.

And lastly,
(Can't do this without a Misti)
I added my sentiment from the same SSS Stamp Set- Sketch Lotus Flower.

Hope you like & find time to join in on Kathy's Coloring Contest!
Not much time left, but enough for you to join in!
See you there!
All comments are welcome & appreciated!
P.S. Be sure to come back soon, I have a GORGEOUS card for you,

GORGEOUS Feathers!

Hi Blog Friends!

I'm here today for
Found here:
You can enter your creations here:
So, after creating Princess Natalie, for Natalie, (my last post)
I thought Princess Natalie needed a tag & so I made a bookmark/tag for her.
I cased Stephanie Low for this one.
I saw this stamp during the SSS Friendly Frolic Blog Hop....
Maybe, you saw it too?
Earth Has Music
Here is Stephanie's work:
 Aren't these GORGEOUS???

Well, I had this stamp set in my cart on SSS, but the announcement of WHO won was a few days away,
 so I waited.....!
I WON the stamp set from Stephanie herself!
I was SO HAPPY!
It arrived just the other day.
I think everyone else was wanting it too, because SSS ran out for a time.

So, here is what I made:
I used SSS- Black Premium Dye Ink & colored it with Prisma Colored Pencils.

This was SUCH A DELIGHT to color!
The lines Stephanie has given helps in giving the image depth.

After coloring the image I used a Faber Castell- Pitt Artist Pen to go back over the lines for definition, (Faber Castell- Black Pitt Artist Pens are India Ink & give a wonderful rich black ink. There are colored Pitt Artist Pens too remember), & I went around the outer of the area of the image with a light colored pencil just for a tinge of color.

For the back:
I used a sentiment from IndigoBlu- Nature III,
& I also used PTI- To You From Me Stamp Set.

I think Princess Natalie will like this.
She too is working on her Graduate work, & I think the sentiment is perfect for her.

After I did this I tried another Feather in the set!
I just couldn't seem to stop.
I also decided to give the feather above a little something else....
Here's what I did with the image above:
What do you think?
Adding dots from a Signo Pen give the image another look!
(One of Kathy's coloring suggestions....) ;)

Here's another image from the same set:
I colored this one with Faber Castell Pitt Pens- the colored pens.
The color is SO RICH!
(Remember, they are India Ink!)
The only other differences are:
I added a few lines of an
American Crafts Gold Gel Pen, & I gave the sentiment word "refuge" a shadow with a Faber Castell- Pitt Artist Pen & did shadowing around the feather also,
& a touch of Silver Wink of Stella.
The sentiment is from PTI- Year of Psalms-March
I just masked off a part of the sentiment so it would fit.
I think this one will make a nice card.

The last feather, but not the last image from this set-
the set has 4 images & a sentiment.
I used Faber Castell- Colored Pencils & just  a touch of Faber Castell- Pitt Artist Pens.
I also used the whole PTI- Sentiment on this one.
And sprinkled clear embossing powder over the sentiment & heat set it, & gave only the words "He" & "refuge" shadows, along with the feather itself.
This one is going in a frame for our daughter for her room, it's the one she liked best.

Lastly here they are all together:
Which one do you like the best?
These images were SO MUCH FUN to color & create with!

Hope you like & remember,
"He will cover you with His feathers, & under His wings you will find refuge."
Psalms 91:4
