Hi Blog Friends!

So, I was doing this card for a challenge! LOL
I missed it by ONE DAY! ACK!!!

Here is the challenge:
Found here:

I had this card in my head & whipped it up today!

I am entering this in
CCEE Stampers Challenge Blog

The challenge:
CCEE1930- National Moth Week
Use a moth (or butterfly) on your card.
You get extra credit if you have a moth stamp/digital.
You can make your card for any occassion.
 "Let the insects fly!

One Day...
I used Bristol Smooth Card Stock, the Water Media Mat (Good for messy projects!), Ranger Mini Mister, Dylusions Ink Spray, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists, & Homemade Glimmer Mists.

*** I also used I.O.- One Day Sentiment- C13811, & I.O.- Fancy Butterfly- DIE059-N.

I matted the sentiment up & popped it up with Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape,
 along with the butterfly.

And lastly, I added 28 Lilac Lane Sequins with Golden Heavy Gel Matte, & my Crystal Katana.

Of course, I couldn't stop with just one....
Made the same as above!

Lovely Water Color-2 Cont'd

Hi Blog Friends!

Here today for the
30 Day Coloring Challenge
Found here:

Today, is the last day of the Coloring Challenge!
OH, I PLANNED to have SO MUCH MORE done!
But, it wasn't to be this time.
Kathy asked us if we would continue to color?
Well, like I said, I had SO MUCH MORE PLANNED!
Things just didn't come together as I had planned, & there is that large project I was going to do...
Still working on that, & I will show you that when I get it off & running!
Maybe, step by step?
I still have some supplies to collect....
So, to finish up the Peony I did for you yesterday using,
Picket Fence- Botan Peony-F117.
Here is my finished card:
As you can see, I didn't stay light handed, not as much as I would have liked! LOL
I think some images just scream to have a darker tone to them.
This image has some thick lines for shadows & I felt it was screaming for a deep tone.

I even found a place for a small sentiment, so as not to overpower this BEAUTIFUL IMAGE!!!
The front sentiment is from SSS-Tiny Words of Faith- sss101964.

As you can see, I matted it up a bit too.

This is the inside, matted up as well.

What do you think?

Here is the other card I made in blues & purple with my card for today:
Which do you like better?
Like I said, in my first Lovely Water Color post,
the image is LARGE & lends itself to showing off your water color skills.
I think with it being large it is great for beginners too!
You can see what the water colors are doing & play with them as you want.

My cards came out to be:
6" x 6 1/4"

I will PROBABLY be showing you more of this image as I play/practice for that big project I have coming!
Like I said, the image is a good tool to help you learn!
___________________________________________________________________

***I wanted to show you HOW TO hang wall art too***
Take a look at what I did for the Orchid Painting I did here:
https://tladydesigns.blogspot.com/2019/06/but-first.html#comment-form
(Remember, I made my own frame with Spellbinders- Adjustable Shadowbox Frame 1" Border)

You need fabric stabilizer/stiffener- I used iron on.
I then cut two pieces of the material with my pinking shears maybe 2" x 5".
Fold the fabric over about 1/3.
Use a Crop-O-Dile & puncher a hole where you want your grommet/s.
Then add your grommet/s.
I used a T-Ruler to make sure I had the holes aligned, using pencil markings.
They can easily be erased with an Eraser.
Glue down the hangers on the lower half  with strong glue & let dry.
(The hangers should be able to flap freely.)
I then added floral wire- for  hanging.

*You used to be able to find these kinds of hangers in the store years ago, but not anymore.
All I could find were nails & Command Hooks.
Using the Command Hooks with what I made, this will hang nicely.
*Another reason for doing it this way, would be to save the back of this piece---
It is cardboard covered with card stock & using a Command Hook of any kind on the back might tear it when it is removed.

Lovely Water Color 2

Hi Blog Friends!

Here today for the
30 Day Coloring Challenge
Found here:
https://www.thedailymarker.com/2019/06/day-1-the-30-day-coloring-challenge-2019-coloring-link-up/

I CAN'T BELIEVE where the time has gone!
The Coloring Challenge is NEAR OVER this time!

BUT,  I am here with another Lovely Water Color for you,
this time I'm trying to go a little  lighter on the color.
When I was in school & learning all about water color, I started with a light hand.
BUT, I had another teacher later who told me PILE ON THE COLOR!

Going lighter is a hard thing to "unlearn!" LOL
AND sometimes, the images just call for color!
Here is the beginning of my trying to go lighter...

This time I went with a warmer color palette.

The image- Picket Fence- Botan Peony-F117.
Yes, if you follow Kathy, this is one image she used for a piece of Wall Art for her studio! ;)

So, come back tomorrow, & I'll have the finished card for you & you'll see if I stuck with my
light handed  coloring! LOL

Thanks for looking!
HOPE you get to jump in on the last few days of the
30 Day Coloring Challenge!

Foiled Hello There

Hi Blog Friends!

Here today for the
30 Day Coloring Challenge
Found here:
https://www.thedailymarker.com/2019/06/day-1-the-30-day-coloring-challenge-2019-coloring-link-up/

This is a card I've been wanting to do.
It took the Coloring Challenge to get me going! LOL

So, here it is!
(I did TWO of these!)

This is the first one I did.
I used Spellbinders- Floral Pattern Glimmer Plate.
(I've been drooling over this plate for sometime & finally gave in & got it!)

I used Zig Clean Brush Markers along with a Nuvo Aquarelle Brush.

I LOVE how this came out!
I also went over the flowers with Faber Castell Colored Pencils to add dimension & interest!
Along with a Signo White Pen, adding those little details, dots & lines....
I also colored in the background with a Spectrum Noir Alcohol Marker.
I started on Cream Card Stock- Paper Studio & was trying to outline the images for a shadow, but didn't like it, so I just colored in the background & like that much better!

I should mention, I used SB- Black Foil for this one! I DO LOVE how the black looks!

I also decided to add my sentiment on vellum- Neenah & I glimmered my sentiment- SB- Glimmer Kit of the Month- Feb. 2019 (Everyday Sentiments) on in black also,
 attaching it with Vellum Tape.

The inside was left blank for a small sentiment to be added later.
And lastly, I added 28 Lilac Lane Sequins!
(I LOVE my sequins!) ;)

NEXT:

I decided to do this one in SB-Gold Foil, & done the same as above, only done in light spring colors.
One thing I will mention, if you look close.... the little white flowers have touches of
Gold FC- Colored Pencils.
It gave just the touch I needed for the white flowers to pop!

 So, what do you think???
Leave me a comment & I will respond in kind! ;)
Happy Coloring!

Lovely Water Color Cont'd!

Hi Blog Friends!

Here today for the
30 Day Coloring Challenge

Found here:

I have the finished card for you from my last post!

Here she is:
This was SO FUN to water color & I also used Faber Castell Polychromos Pencils on this for depth, just like Kathy does! ;)

I LOVE the blues & purples.....<3

I added White Signo Pen touches to the stamen & Nuvo Glitter Drops.

For the inside, I used SSS-Premium Black Dye Ink with my Misti,
& the sentiment is from PTI- Pen & Ink.

I thought about adding a sentiment on the front,
but didn't want it to take away from this gorgeous flower!

Lastly, I added 28 Lilac Lane Sequins with Multi-Med. Matte & my Crystal Katana.
Seriously, this was probably the hardest part! LOL
Everything I pulled out over powered the image, so I settled on these clear small sequins.
PERFECT!

Next, I think I'll try to go a little lighter handed on the color.
But, if you're like me, you LIKE COLOR!!! LOL
You'll see how the next one comes out soon!

DO tell me what you think????
I'd LOVE to know, & I will come over & comment on your blog too!

Remember, I told you this was a large image in my last post?
My card came out to be:
6" x 6 1/4"
I didn't mat it up a lot just because of the size of the image,
& thought the dark blue was nice enough with the Water Colored Flower.

*****This card was chosen "Favorites for the week ending July 13th, 2019" over on SCS!*****

***LOVELY WATER COLOR was chosen "BEST OF 2019!" on SCS!***

HAPPILY PLAYING WITH MY WATER COLORS HERE!

(This is also "practice" for me, as I will be doing a large piece in the near future!) ;)

Miss You!

Hi Blog Friends!

OH, I AM SO BEHIND in keeping up with the
30 Day Coloring Challenge!

Found here:

How about you?
Are you keeping up?

My card is COLORED today with Liquid Water Colors!
New to me & oh so fun!

Miss You
I used Waffle Flowers- Bouquet Builder 3 & it's dies for this LOVELY bouquet!
I used my Water Media Mat- by Waffle Flower, dropping Ecoline Liquid Water Colors into the little wells & painting the image.

The color is so vibrant & SO FUN to work with!
(I found my Liquid Water Colors on Amazon,
but you can also find them on Dick Blick, along with a lot more colors!)

After painting this & die cutting it, I placed it on a card base- 4 1/4" x 5 1/2",
after I stamped it with SSS- Quilted Hearts Bkg.- SSS101947,
using Hero Arts- White Satin Pearl Emb. Powder.

I did extra little flowers that are offered in the Waffle Flower Bouquet Builder,
die cut those & popped them up where I wanted to fill in the bouquet & give it even more dimension.

The sentiment on the front is by SB-Glimmer Kit of he Month-Feb. 2019- Everyday Sentiments,
 & foiled with SB Foil.

I added little white dots & circles to the centers of the flowers for detail with a Signo White Pen
& 28 Lilac Lane Sequins with Multi Med. Matte & my Crystal Katana.

The inside: I had some extra flowers & added them to the inside.

I LOVE how this came out!
How about you?

Enjoying EVERY MOMENT I get to play!
