Wishing You An Amazing Day!

Hi Blog Friends!

First of all,
I HOPE everyone had a Memorial Day that was in remembrance of those who have sacrificed for us. The price of Freedom isn't cheap!

What have you been up to during the shut-down?
I told you a few posts ago, I have been Spring Cleaning, & taking care of our baby chicks.
That is true.
I thought you might like to see our new little chicks....
We finally got our "Nursery/Sick House" made for our chicks/chickens.
You can't just put them in with the older chickens.
Chickens are cannibals.
Who knew right?
Even if a chicken is sick or not up to par, they pick on them & sometimes need to be removed from the bunch for a short while.
(Kind of like people!)
Not long, as they won't accept them back nicely.

Well today, I went out to the nursery & let the chicks come out in the sunshine or run for the first time. Not many of them ventured out. LOL
They froze at every new sound,
and would run back into the coop when Marmalade (Our older Rooster) would crow in the next run!
You can tell they are playing games in the coop when they're running around--constantly moving.
It is SO CUTE!
Even the little one--- I was trying to correct her feet, has turned out SO SPUNKY!
Her feet are only a bit better,  not perfect.
She still has curled toes to some extent.
I think the correction needed to be as soon as she was born for it to take;
we got her 24 hours or a little more after hatching.

This is what we started with. They're just little fuzz balls!
Anyway, here is a picture of them in their new home!
(This was taken when we first moved them out into the nursery.)

Now, here is what they look like:

They grow so fast!
Here they're gathered at the gate, I think they were wanting to do some sun bathing,
but it was pretty muddy with all the rain we've been having.

It doesn't take long for the run to turn to mud! YUK! Planning on getting a roof on the run's to help control that mud. They LOVE their new home & are having a good time getting to know the older chickens through the fencing between the runs.
They're getting braver each day!

Here's one of the more curious one's!
I think this one is a rooster--- Notice the even stripes? That tells this is a male.
We got more roosters than we wanted & are lining up new homes for them! LOL
These are Barred Rocks.
More babies are to arrive this week!

Now, on to my card:

Wishing You An Amazing Day

I thought a little chick card was in order today!
This card was done with:
Ma Ma Elephant- Beach Chickies.
This set came out last year & I fell in love with it!
My hubby just laughed when I showed him the images I had purchased! ;)

I used:
Ma Ma Elephant- Framed Tags- Artist Mat for the scalloped framing of the image, & mounted it with Uline Foam Tape on a 4 1/2" x 5 1/4" card base. (After creating the main panel.)

 To create the panel:
I decided where I wanted this little chick to take flight & created a stencil with a
SB- Classic Oval Die.
Creating the sky within the oval with:
MFT- Mini Cloud Edges Stencil, Oxide Ink, & Start makers Make-Up Brushes.

I stamped the sweet little chick & it's kite in my Mini Misti, on Strathmore Bristol Smooth,
 die cut her with the coordinating die & used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens & a Nuvo Aquarelle Brush;
& Mounted the little chick & her kite with Uline Foam Tape.

I put the panel back in my Mini Misti & stamped the sentiment in Ranger- Archival Ink- Blk. stamped the sentiment again in Versa Mark & applied Stampendous- Clear EP & heat set it with my Wagner Heat Tool.

Lastly, I added a few little sequins- Cartwrights- Moonshine with Golden Matte Med. & my Crystal Katana.

Hope you like!

Wishing you an amazing day!

Fresh Breezes

Hi Blog Friends!

I've been happily Spring Cleaning & sneaking in a little crafting when I need a break.
One of the negative sides to the Spring Cleaning:  I do the inside & the outside of the window----
which make the windows dangerous for birds.
I hear it when they hit the windows & jump to check & see if the bird is alright.
So far, they have been.
Here is a picture of a bird that hit the other day & it took him some time to recuperate!
The bird is a
Summer Tanager
Isn't he BEAUTIFUL???
As I said, he recovered & flew off, thankfully!

So, with Spring Cleaning in mind, it's like opening the windows & getting a fresh breeze in the house with everything clean.
Here is my card:
Fresh Breezes
I used:
*The Greetery- Fresh Air Window Frame
*The Greetery- Fresh Air Stamp & Die Set
*The Greetery- Brick Layer Die
I also used:
*Strathmore Bristol Smooth since I used an
*Arteza Real Brush Pen-A115 Smoke Gray for those gray bricks.
I used:
*Oxide Inks
Using my *Original Misti.
How do you like that curtain, blowing in the breeze?
I did that with:
*Grafix- Vellum
*Zing- White EP
*Wagner Heat Tool
I love how the vellum curled up!

Here's a nice close up of the demension!
I scored the shutters with my
*Scor-Buddy &
*Teflon Bone Folder &
gave a few snips to the bottom of the shutters so they would fold out & added
 *Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape.
I also added color to my card base 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" with a
*Start Makers Make-Up Brush
*Oxide Inks for that warm glow inside the window.
I popped the whole panel (brick layer) up on
*Scotch Perm. Mounting Tape.

I also added:
*The Greetery- Macra-Made Fillers Dies for the ivy & sponged some deeper color on them for depth, & then shaped them with
*Foam Molding Mat
*McGill Stylus
A few more looks at the dimension!

The inside:

Open the windows & let the Fresh Breezes in!

You Make Life....

Hi Blog Friends!

Today, I have a card for you that reminds me of tapestry.
I LOVE the print that this set makes!
I like to do encouraging cards & so that is what this is.

Take a look:
I used:
*The Greetery- Print Shop: Fresh Floral Stamp & Die Set.
I LOVE how Betsy did this one with the stencils! It makes this SO EASY to do!
As you can see, I also did the flap to my envelope for a coordinated look.
Done with just a tad of masking! ;)
(See what I mean about looking like tapestry?)

I also did the front of my envelope too,
the large flower from the set.
And I sealed it over with * Jacquard- Dorland's Wax Medium, along with the flap.
  I did the front of the card the same way as the envelope, (no sealant though);
I also cut that piece to the left with my *Tonic Guillotine & *EK Success- Scissors.
Then I pierced the edge,
*Paper Piercer
*Foam Molding Mat
*SU- Piercing Template Pack Essentials

I stamped a separate flower (The small one from the set this time) & added it to the front,
along with some *28 Lilac Lane Sequins- Sea Grass.
I popped the flower & the left panel up on *Uline Foam Tape.
I went over the large purple flowers with *Spectrum Noir- Sparkle Pens.
(If you enlarge the photos, you might catch a glimpse of the sparkle!
If you use sealant, there will be no sparkle!)

The inside:
I stamped & die cut the large flower for the inside & I also added
*Spectrum Noir- Sparkle Pen to it also! ;)
The inside sentiment is from:
*The Greetery- Sketchbook Roses.

HOPE you like!

Hi Blog Friends!

I was needing a couple quick cards, so I went with simple!
What better way to go simple, but to go Amish!
(Thinking of my Amish Friend here.) ;)

I will be entering my card in
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
The challenge?
Simon Says: Anything Goes
Found here:

I used:
*I.O.- Serendipity SS-1184-E Buggy

Do a little dry embossing! Those scored lines frame up this buggy beautifully!
The image itself is done with lines & stippling.
Simply beautiful, as a hand drawn image in India Ink!

For the inside:
The Greetery-Simple Things.
Perfect for this Amish Image.

And lastly,
Simple cards need simple envelopes.
*WRMK- Envelope Board

Hi Blog Friends!

I have a fun card for you today!
This card went to a fellow card makers daughter who had been in the hospital (not Covid19),
 & needed a pick-me-up!
My fellow card maker let me know what kinds of things her daughter liked,
& so that is why this card is what it is! ;)

Take a look at

This was SUCH A FUN CARD to make!

I won't go into the details on how it was made as it's pretty basic.
But I will list the tools used later.
So for now, just enjoy the view!

Now inside the fence:

I placed two small pieces of magnet (refrigerator type that I cut to size.)
I just needed a light magnet to hold the fence closed so "Big Dog" wouldn't get out! LOL

This is the inside & you're getting a little glimpse of the envelope I made here too!

Such cuteness just makes me SMILE!
I HOPE it made the recipient smile too!

I did add the "Please Hand Cancel" stamp to the front, as I didn't want the flowers to get smooshed! ;)

Robin's Egg Collage

Hi Blog Friends!

Well, I was going to post this yesterday, but a little chick with curly toes has had me occupied these last few days & beyond!
I think she has adopted me as her mother, as she carries on if I am not holding her constantly!
We'll check her toes tomorrow & see if they have straightened out.
We've tried this before, but they curl back up, so this time, we're leaving her little slippers/sandals on for longer.
Here is a little picture of her for you.
See her little feet? Kind of like duck feet for now. I keep her on my bed side table to meet her needs in the night. Needs? Well that sock covered thing on the left is a Mason Jar filled with hot water. A little trick an Amish friend taught me, to keep her warm.
Now to my card for you:

I'm playing along with
Found here:

I chose to make my card a Spring theme.
I've so enjoyed making Spring Cards here lately, I couldn't stop! LOL

I am also entering my card in
Simon Says: 'E' is for?
(Add something beginning with an E.)
Found here:
I added an Egg & Egg Cup to my card! ;)

So, here is my card:

Here's what I did:
I die cut one egg from a nice blue card stock for my egg.
The other egg was die cut from a cream card stock & foiled-
 SB- GOM-MAR20 Eggstra Special-Egg Die & Foiling.
I fussy cut the foiled egg following the design as you see above.
This way I could create my egg cup.

Splattered the blue egg some with brown Oxide Ink.

The other elements to my card:
The Greetery-Blooming Branch Stamp & Die, Botani Cuts-Palm (A piece I already had made),
& Pretty Postmarks Stamps & Dies.
For my sentiment- SB- GOM-MAR20 Eggstra Special.

I mounted the egg, egg cup & a small floral branch on Uline Foam Tape for dimension.
And added 28 Lilac Lane Sequins- Seaglass, with my Crystal Katana & Golden Matte Medium.

The inside:
SSS- Tin Words Faith-sss101964,
& I hand wrote the "Always" with a FC- 1,5 Pitt Artist Pen.

This could be an Easter Card, or as I used it, a Spring Card of encouragement!

HOPE you like!
And HOPE EVERYONE is fairing well with the staying home & isolating!
P.S. I'm still Spring Cleaning like a crazy woman here,
when I'm not nursing our little curly toed chick! LOL
